what I had planned to do this week:

• clean my room
• practice bass
• nap in the sun
• read House Of The Spirits (+hw, which is really simple) and Pride And Prejudice And Zombies
• do the 10-page bio packet that I had FORGOTTEN ABOUT ENTIRELY until two weeks ago (fml)
• practice conducting
• generally relax and prepare myself for band camp and, eventually school

what I will be doing this week:

• playing Sims 3

seriously it is SO ADDICTING and super customizable. my Sim looks so much like me it's scary (only she's thinner and better at guitar read: she can play guitar very well whereas I have had my bass for a year and can't do shit with it). so if you don't see me around much this week, blame EA Games :|

when Claire and I made our sims, it put in the right "favorites" for us :o it is PSYCHIC.

you could totally come over and play it if you want. it's one of those things where basically one person does everything while the other watches and shouts advice, but if that still sounds fun, feel free.

I don't think I've ever actually played Sims -- we didn't have it, so I'd just build houses and invent people and then leave forever.

How do you like House of the Spirits? I remember that bio packet... I might actually have it somewhere still...

I like it, but it's really slow going. I wish I'd just read the whole thing as soon as I'd gotten it cause I have like no motivation to read it right now :( do you really? ~~Neumann's changed some things but yours would probably still work for a lot of it....~~

Yep, found it. It's your ethics that say whether you can copy or not... :P I've got most of my notes on everything still, at least two inches worth of paper.

I really have no problem with copying :D our education system is sort of set up for it anyway. could you scan it or something? and holy crap. I should organize my notes, they're horribly out of order ~~and crap anyway, I'm horrible at notes.~~

Someone got the idea to revamp the junior IB book list, and put this in. It's this Japanese novel, really heavy on the symbolism, but hard to understand without knowledge of that culture's symbols. Very big on description and the ambiance, not very plot heavy. Extremely slow going. Turns out it didn't fit into the curriculum at all, and would've replaced the Garcia-Marquez book that people tend to enjoy, so it was basically for nothing.

I found that just skimming through Campbell trying to find the answers was pretty interesting in terms of learning random stuff, but I'm a huge dork. When would you need it by? I have a scanner that I've never used and I'm not sure how to use...

sad. I didn't like Chronicle all that much, but a lot of people did seem to enjoy it. your description of it sounds like how Japanese movies traditionally tend to be, too; you have to really enjoy that sort of slow pacing to be able to tolerate it (I can't at all, which is why I watch the weird chop-socky flicks instead).

I could do that, but I feel like it'd take more time than I have. stupid band camp. by the end of the week would be preferable, but really I just need it before school starts. are you still around this summer? we could get a group of people together to go see a movie or something and you could give it to me there....

I know you don't really have time, I was just saying that I found it worthwhile. :) I'm free Mondays and Tuesdays, and then the last week of August.

Also, I could photocopy it and just send it in the damn mail.

oh. I may do that later then. hm, we should still try to go see a movie or something, but I think the photocopying of notes would work better than getting it then. I can pay you back for postage or something if you want? thanks though, this is really helpful :)
