I'M ALIVE \o/ first week of band camp = success! the freshmen are surprisingly good playing and pretty decent marching; I think we'll stay pretty much on schedule next week (mvt 1 on Mon&Tues, mvt 2 on Weds&Thurs, cleaning/finalizing everything on Fri; mvt 3 coming Thurs?). feel free to drop by for our performance on Friday of all the stuff we know. in other band-related news, Nate Potter and Jason Lee (tenors and clarinet-turned-sousa, respectively) are the best marchers in the band, as determined last night by our melee/free-for-all competition. Jason technically won in that Nate was tapped out before he made any significant mistakes, but he should've been out all the same.

my shoulders hurt :[ all I do is conduct and tell people they're wrong (and, occasionally, right) and CARRY HUGE THINGS and take half an hour to untangle extension cords because they never get put away correctly.

- I dled Heartbreaker the other day and am slightly...underwhelmed. idk, I wasn't expecting something omg amazing, but I wish I did like it more. it's just sort of eh for me (although it could be one of those albums that require me to listen to it multiple times, possibly as background music, before I really start to like it. see: every Jimmy Eat World album ever made. I love them to pieces, but I never start out liking their albums.) also I'm sorry, but seriously, lol at all the people who are like "HEARTBREAKER" AND "RIGHT ROUND" SOUND NOTHING ALIKE!!!1!! yes they do. idk that I'd necessarily call it plagiarism, but there are pretty clear similarities. it still sounds cool though; imo GD should just say he was influenced by Flo-Rida or something and apologize for it sounding too alike.

in any case, the MV is awesome like whoa so idc too much :D THIS FANDOM IS MAKING ME SHALLOW WHAT.

- JFC. I think Chansung is officially #1 now. he needs to turn around though, I want to actually see his abs. even though he is a ~LITTERER~ OMG. why are people freaking out about this? I mean, yeah, it makes me roll my eyes and I obviously don't approve, but to paraphrase someone on Omona, it's not like he's kicking puppies and setting orphans on fire.

- I like how EVERYONE WHO KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT KPOP is on DBSK's side but SM is still all NO WE GAVE THEM A LOT OF MONEY, IT'S OKAY. I hope they come out of it alright. there'd definitely be a lot of outrage if they didn't win, I think.

i am totally lame but - what instrument do you play?

clarinet, since sixth grade (like 11-12, idk what that is for you), and I'm "learning" bass right now (aka I have a bass collecting dust in my room).

that would be year 7 here. clarinet looks really hard. and i love playing bass, too bad i suck at it.

clarinet is actually pretty simple for the most part (except crossing the break at first and how the different octave fingerings never line up :|). or maybe I think so because I've been playing it so long. not that I'm any good at it lol.

i learnt from an early age that i was shitty at woodwind instruments and or anything that involved blowing/my mouth (har har.)

i feel you. i've been 'playing' guitar since i was 14 or some shit, and i suck so hard.

I never put that much effort into it tbh. I don't play anymore, I got sort of tired of it. I still like listening to clarinet music though.

the extent of my bass playing is just...scales haha.
