I think you could definitely make the case that what Antonia's doing is at least morally neutral. And at this point it's definitely just these particular characters that we're supposed to be attached to and care about, because in the grand scheme of things, there is not a single reason for humans to keep vampires around. They keep playing the tolerance angle, the "we're people too!", but it doesn't fit at all. In the end it's not live and let live, it's live and get snacked on, and there are actually really good reasons for people to not want them around.

Which I guess leads to, why was he such a dick in the first place? Because I also feel like they gave him a personality transplant. Old Eric's personality would be to have Pam help him. He's never that subservient. It's less "I don't know what's going on", because he could've done that and still been arrogant/selfish/occasionally cruel.

I really liked her "human spirit" speech too. Again, whether she's really a villain or not.

Ginger on top of the coffin shrieking was so funny, they just love messing around with her character. And Bill released her a while back, so idk if he can reinstate the magic or if she's forever allowed to do whatever she wants.

it really drove the point home for me when she convinced tara to join her: all vampires have ever done is victimized both of them. and, i mean, you could make the case that there are humans who would do the same thing, but franklin is the (slightly more psychopathic) rule, not the exception when it comes to vampires. the only vampires you could make a case for having retained some of their humanity are bill (because he's edgy like that), jessica (because she was turned barely a year ago), and eric (but only right now and only because he doesn't really remember being a vampire). even the ones who are pushing to be accepted in human society, like nan, seem to have some ulterior motives that we don't really know about yet. so, really, why SHOULDN'T they be killed? what good do they really bring to the world? i feel like true blood vaguely addressed this in the tara/antonia scene but there was also a definite sense of NO TARA DON'T JOIN THE BAD GUYS!!!! idk, basically this is the first time we've had a villain that isn't actually evil but true blood, as usual, is completely avoiding all that ~moral ambiguity~ bullshit.

yeah i don't really know what's going on with eric right now. the helpless puppy routine was cute for a few episodes, but the more i think about it the more disgruntled i become. it's so obviously a plot device to get sookie and eric together. i mean, judging by what we saw of human!eric last season he was far from a pushover while he was alive, so where the hell is all this coming from? i feel like, true blood being true blood, when eric does eventually get his memories back he will return to be eric northman, dick extraordinaire, just with a bit of a ~softer side or smth. IDK I'VE JUST GIVEN UP ON TRUE BLOOD EVER HAVING LAYERS which is sad because it could be such a complex show.
