also I am super amused at how my mom emailed me all JEN BROUGHT THE 2ND & 3RD SEASONS OF DEXTER FOR US TO BORROW!!! and Hamlet as Harry Potter = best project ever, I love that group so hard.

new default icon of Jay :/ I don't really want to go into it as I'm still in shock, and half my flist doesn't care anyway (or at least wouldn't know wtf I was talking about). I'm trying not to think about it too much, it makes me all ache-y. at least he's with his family.

ↂ band camp is over!!! we actually have the entire opener and like half the ballad on the field and it's pretty damn good. I got the warm fuzzies after our parent performance haha. I'm worried about not having the met on during the ballad though, the band always slows down and wants to make it all pretty like a concert when they need to keep their feet going at 90/180. then again, we're only two weeks into the season, so I'm pretty optimistic.

ↂ exceptindreams has been posting some really amazing poems lately. my favorites are You're Beautiful/The Shout (Simon Armitage), The Vanishings (Stephen Dunn), You Fit Into Me (Margaret Atwood), For Strong Women (Marge Piercy), and This Be The Verse (Philip Larkin), although really they've all been exceptionally good.

I really haven't been up to making long updates lately, so here's a basic rundown of the last few days:


tuesday went to sfmoma, saw the richard avedon show (OMG LOOOOOVE), had delicious pizza, did other stuff that I'm sure was fun, etc.

wednesday saw grandparents/julie+bob, had amazing chicken; saw carol+doug+kristen, had delicious mexican food, played apples to apples junior (I was sticky, cuddly, delicious, sickening, and silent...would've been kind of ~suggestive~ without the "sickening" lol), was enormously cheerful, etc.

today sat at home, watched changeling, am about to watch corpse bride, feeling pretty good, etc.
