What is your idea of perfect happiness?
being content. knowing that even when bad things are happening, you'll get through them just fine and come out the other end a little bit better than you were before.

What is your greatest fear?
mediocrity

Which historical figure do you most identify with?
idk enough about history to answer this properly :(

Which living person do you most admire?
i usually have trouble answering these, but right now i'd have to say brandi (my big sister in pi beta phi). she's a really wonderful, genuine person and i aspire to be like her.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
fear, in a lot of different ways.

What is the trait you most deplore in others?
selfishness. i don't understand how anyone can not care about the people around them. obviously i'm not a saint, but i really do want to try to make the world a better place in whatever small way i can, and to me that begins with helping others.

What is your greatest extravagance?
wallowing in my emotions.

What is your favorite journey?
i love traveling in general, but especially road trips and cruise ships. it really isn't ever about the destination for me, though, it's all about getting there.

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
none, really. they're virtues for a reason.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
lol idk. writing an a-worthy 11 page paper in around seven hours?

On what occasion do you lie?
when the truth would result in an argument, mostly

What do you dislike most about your appearance?
i'm not going to answer this question because a) i've actually been feeling pretty good about myself lately, and b) i'm trying not to think about what i dislike about myself and instead to focus on all the things i like.

Which living person do you most despise?
anyone who doesn't care about other people.

Who or what is the greatest love of your life?
i love my family more than words. this does include people not related to me by blood, but if i had to choose i'd take my actual relatives any day. family has become increasingly important to me as i grow up, and i don't see that changing any time soon.

When and where were you happiest?
pretty much any time i spent with my group of friends in my senior year of high school.

Which talent would you most like to have?
self-confidence. because i do think it's a talent.

What is your current state of mind?
right now i'm feeling decently optimistic, i guess? although the music i'm listening to right now helps, lol (shut up my itunes was on shuffle okay)

What is it that you most dislike?
....in terms of what? i need some parameters here.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
my inability to believe in myself.

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
when you know you're being ridiculous but you can't stop feeling sorry for yourself.

What is your favorite occupation?
whatever makes you happy, i guess? i don't have a favorite job, although there are a lot of jobs that i know i could never do. but i definitely want to work with people in some capacity.

What is your most marked characteristic?
my curiosity.

What is the quality you most like in a man?
i'm going to have to answer this question and the next in terms of attraction because there aren't specific personality traits that i look for in one gender as opposed to the other. (and that goes for any relationship, not just a romantic one)
so for men: i mostly like men that are physically bigger than me. being at least as tall as i am is a must (the taller the better!), and i prefer guys who are somewhat muscular and have broad shoulders, etc. i also have a tendency to like men who are older than me, lol. basically my ideal guy is someone who can ~protect~ me physically, emotionally, and preferably financially (although i could never date somebody possessive, as i'm not the jealous type at all).

What is the quality you most like in a woman?
EVERYTHING. i have been really gay lately since i've been spending so much time surrounded by women (and almost none around men), but even when i'm more straight i don't have a 'type' in women. i like femmes and butches and everything in between! i do have a weakness for the sort of hipster lesbian you find on tumblr though, lol.

What do you most value in your friends?
loyalty. support. being able to sit in the same room together and not have to talk about anything.

lani garver from carol plum-uchi's novel what happened to lani garver

Who are your heroes in real life?
lol this is sad but i've never really had any. i don't idolize people in that way.

How would you like to die?
there isn't a specific way i want to die, but to me, i'll know that i've had a fulfilling life if, when i die, somebody i've never met is sad for me.
