if you don't see me on facebook and/or twitter, i'm still alive. flight was actually pretty nice :)

will make proper update tomorrow when i'm not about to pass out.

also, idk if it's been officially announced yet, but mic says that head says that camp is on the 17th and will run pretty much exactly as it did last year. just fyi to the (two?) band kids on my flist.

Like, actually. I really don't want to do band this year. I don't really give a shit whether or not they need me or want me. I don't want to, so I don't necessarily have to, no? And I've realized that there's no way Head could force me. I'm not taking a band class, so he couldn't pressure me with grades.

But knowing me, Mr. Spineless Bastard, I'll end up doing it because I'll be pressured.

do it or don't, but don't bitch about it either way (especially given that you've now said you don't want to do it). may sound sort of heartless, but I've said it before and I'll say it again--I don't want anyone in the band who doesn't want to be there because they're not going to be giving it as much energy as they should. personally, I love hanging out with you on band trips and whatnot (and it could be that you've just forgotten how much fun it is, I did the same thing last year) but I don't think you should ever do stuff you don't want to do.

That may be it. I remember having a lot of fun at the competitions, but when I think of marching band, I think of long, cold night rehearsals without any water breaks and a lot of frustration with Head.

but hopefully it's worth it in the end? and you know that you can tell me about any problems you're having with the way things are being run and I can take it to Head. then again, if it's something you're really dreading I don't think you should do it.

no matter what you eventually decide, do it (or don't) because it's what you want and not what everyone else wants you to do.

Um, on the subject of band camp (which I'm not particularly excited for, either, but that's beside the point), are you (Marie) going to be there on Rookie days? If so, how long will you be there, and would you be willing to go to a birthday party at Safari Sam's at the end of one of the Rookie Days?
